The last 3 weeks have been a whirlwind. We managed to complete the formwork for 2 concrete pours without too much hassle with rain.

Following green building principles, we obtained our polystyrene insulation from local sources, PolyFoam factory, just 8km away in Castle Forbes Bay, as well as using local contractors on the job site. We received a spontaneous tour of the from a friendly employee eager to show us their work. We were glad the polystyrene was so light after all the hard and heavy work we'd done with the masonary block walls.

We learned the art of tenting, because everynight with the threat of showers the trenchwork and forms had to be covered. After the pours, we used any excess concrete as forming for the storm drains. All said, we're happy the pours went very well with the help again of Robbie Page and his co-worker Cory.

Crikey! Framing next...
