summer winter11

Ah, late summer and wonderful warm days...

Our new chooks managed to hatch a chick from fertile eggs donated by our neighbours. This sparked an interest in raising my own chooks for fertile eggs… so we purchased Barnevelder fertile eggs and an incubator and a new journey began! 21 days later, six new baby chicks!

Hmm, time to increase our stock, we leased McAllister the bull to service our girls. He was gentle and brushable, not like Belle and Sarah. They soon got jealous of the attention, and Graham was able to brush them as well. Troy got his Australian citizenship. Graham finished his first residential design, and now with the new deck we had a place to sit and view magnificent sunrises and sunsets!

The Barnevelder chicks grew to "chokes", watched by our local wedgetailed eagle, I built a top-bar beehive, the girls love their snack time and a lil rub... and then winter snow came again.
